Before you come

The House Agreement

Riwaq means the corner. Every room we run is built on twelve lines, and every person in it agreed to the same twelve.

By booking you agree to all of the following.

1. 01
   THE HOUSE IS CLEAN

   No alcohol, no smoking, no drugs. Not before, not during. If you arrive under the influence you will not be let in, and your ticket is not refunded.

   I WILL BE HERE

   Phones down. I am coming to be in the room, not to film it.

3. 03
   EVERYONE BELONGS

   Every race, religion, background, age and language. I will not judge anyone in this house, and I accept that I will meet people I disagree with.

   I WILL MIND MY WORDS AND MY ACTIONS

   No jokes at anyone's expense. Nobody in this house is here to be pursued or pressured, and no means no the first time.

   WHAT IS SAID HERE STAYS HERE

   No screenshots, no recording other guests, no repeating someone's night to people who were not in it.

6. 06
   I WILL LOOK AFTER THE PERSON NEXT TO ME

   If someone is on their own, I will go to them.

   I WILL GIVE BEFORE I TAKE

   I will bring something to share, and I will leave the place better than I found it.

8. 08
   I AM NOT HERE TO SELL

   No pitching, no promoting my business, product, service, course, agency or event. No handing out cards or flyers, no collecting contacts for a list, no filming content for my own brand. People here are people, not leads. This is the fastest way to be asked to leave.

9. 09
   TICKETS ARE FINAL

   All sales are final and no refunds are given. My ticket can be transferred to someone else, or moved to another Riwaq event, if I tell us at least 48 hours before doors. If Riwaq cancels or moves the night, I choose a full refund or a transfer.

10. 10
    THE NIGHT IS FILMED

    Riwaq photographs and films its events and may use that footage publicly. If I do not want to be filmed I will tell the team at the door and they will keep me out of it.

11. 11
    I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR MYSELF

    I am over 18, or attending with a parent or guardian. I am joining freely, I am responsible for my own health, safety and belongings, and I will follow the house team's instructions on the night.

12. 12
    RIWAQ CAN SAY NO

    Riwaq may refuse entry, or ask anyone to leave, if they break this agreement or make the room unsafe for other people. No refund is given in that case.

This is not fine print. It is the reason the room feels the way it does.
